Reiki treatments can help you in a holistic way with all sorts of condition such as physical aches and pains, headache, internal organ problems, recovery from illness or surgery, both physical and mental/emotional stress and even serious illness if applied on a long-term basis, or simply for relaxation.
Treatments are usually carried out on a couch or sitting in a chair, depending on the condition. You remain clothed and the Reiki is applied hands on in a gentle and non-invasive way. A treatment usually lasts upwards of 45 minutes depending on the need of the receiver and there are no side effects.
You can also receive a treatment via Distance Reiki and this is called Enkaku Chiryo which is taught on the Level Two (Okuden) training course. In fact, it sometimes happens that receivers of Reiki treatments end up training as Reiki practitioners themselves so that they can then treat family and friends and discover what power they have within them to use for their own well-being as well as for the well-being of others. Yes, it is also possible to treat yourself.
